Sight Options for an Ishapore 2A

I have an Ishapore 2A carbine. One of those cut down models for sale over here. The front sight on my gun is the same as the Enfield Jungle Carbine. I really want to put a different adjustable rear sight on my gun. Apperature or Blade it really doesnt matter too me as long as its adjustable. I talked to my gunsmith about this and he told me there was no way he could put a different sight on my gun because he couldnt get it to mount low enough to work with the front sight. Frankly im not buying this so I figured Id ask around and see what people have to say. I dont care if it requires some drilling and tapping and would prefer it to be an upgrade to the old irons. I would like to keep that neet looking jungle carbine flash hider on it though.

Your original post stated "One of those cut down models for sale over here" but as you havn't put your home country into your address details we dont know where you are. This is an International forum with members from Australiaicon, Canadaicon, Englandicon, Europe, New Zealand, USA and no doubt other places as well.
So "over here" to an Aussie would mean Australia, for an American would mean America, .........

    Anyway - to your question.
The 2A is basically a No1 Mk3* but I believe there may be some slight differences. I dont have a 2A so I dont know.
A Parker Hale model 5A sight is designed for a No1 rifle, but if there are differences between a 2A and a No1 it may not fit.
I was posting the suggestions more as a 'prompt' for someone who may know.
