Hornady Light Magnum 303 ammo
I recently scored 5 fresh looking boxes of Hornady "Light Magnum" 150 gr. ammo at an estate auction for $9.00 per box. Anybody have any experience with this stuff? Ballistic tables indicate that this stuff approaches 30-06 performance and I'm wondering if it might not be a little too hot for use in my three old No. 1 Mk. IIIs? I'm thinking this ammo would be OK in my two No. 4s and no problem at all in my Pattern 14.
Just looking for some experience expretise. Thanks in advance.

Hornady doesn't list a .303 Brit 'Light Magnum' any more. Your ammo supposedly runs at 2830 fps with ME of 2667 ft-lbs. Close to .308 with the same bullet weight. Retails at nearly $30 a box. $9 is a great price.
According to Chuck Hawks, Hornady did not exclude a No. 1. It'll hurt with the narrow butt stock though

I've fired some in the SMLE and there were no ill effects----I did not notice anything like .30-'06 performance, either.
