    7.5 Swiss

    I have a box of Norma ORYX, 7,5x55 20pcs. No.17510, 180 grains soft point. Is this 7.5 Swissicon ? Can I use it in a Smidt Rubin K 31?
    Thanks
    Pete

That's OK. Thanks anyhow. The range officer at Barrie Gun Club checked it out and said we were good to go. So we did. And it was good. Sooo gooood!

Hi Pete.... Just saw this post, sorry I missed it...

As you found out, yes you can shoot the Norma. I used to use it before I bought some of the M41 Swissicon milsurp stuff.....

    Regards,

Turns out, at a little over 2 bucks a round, I decided to save money by not making any holes in the target and so could re-use them. My plan was working well and I was saving a bundle till Al (the range officer) had a turn and put in three holes you could cover with two fingers. Man, that one sweet K31icon! Thanks Badger!! Guess I better learn to re-load!

    You're welcome ...

I guess the soldier whose "name tag" is under the butt plate of that old girl, really took care of her....

If you want to handload more affordable ammunition, just fl resize .284 Winchester brass. No other modifications needed.

Thanks for the tip tiriaq! Reloading is a committment I'm going to have to make sooner rather than later. I now have rifles that are tough or exspensive to feed. 3 Lebels, a Carcano, 1909 Argentineicon, the Shmidt and a whole wack of Mosins, Lees and a Garandicon. I'll be hangin' out at the ammo-reload page for some time to come!.lol

I'm with Pete04, I have entirely too many guns to re-load for. The up front expense would cause me to re-finance my home. I will at some point pick a caliber or two and start. but, for now the ammo I'd like to re-load for (6.5x55 and 7.5X55) are still to be had where I shop.-SDH

I think 8mm Lebel is formed from .348 Winchester. Higginsons sometimes has it. 7.65 Mauser is easy enough to form from .30-06, etc. Hornady makes a .268" diameter bullet specially for Carcanos. Watch eBay for 6.5x52 MC brass.

I have some Lapau brass and Lee dies coming with a Turk carbine and the other Turk is coming with some re-formed .348 brass. Elwood Epps says they will have Carcano ammo come June. Can't wait to see the price tag! lol I got some Argintine Mauser ammo for the 1909, but I can't tell you what it cost ,cause I'm going to sit on it for a month or two and then sell it and retire, cause it's better than gold. lol
