    * The favorite kimchee vegetable is Chinese (or Napa) cabbage. The Koreans ferment it in enormous quantities. They then pack the kimchee into huge earthenware jars, bury the jars in the ground up to the neck, and cover the lids with straw until the kimchee is needed. Commonly in the ground for six months or more.

Note: Don't try this stuff sober.

most people regard a 357 mag enough for home protection

Can anyone tell me the difference between a 357 mag and a 30 cal carbine other than the diameter of the bullet? From what I can determine they both yeald about the same energy at the muzzle. I don't know about all of you other people but if I need to shoot someone in my home the mazimum distance will be measured in feet not yards. Somehow I feel that head shots really can't produce much of a different.

If you have to use a gun on anyone at kitchen or bedroom distance, forget head shots. Hold center of mass and fire away. At such distances there is no difference between a M-1 Carbine and a .357 Magnum. One or more good hits with either round is going to thoroughly poop someone's party. Sincerely. BruceV.

This reminds me of back when I was about 25. My Father was visiting and seen that my favorite revolver was unloaded.......He was shocked, telling me I might as well be ready to throw marshmellows at an intruder. Things got worse after telling him I had just got back from having that gun 'Registered'...........I'll never forget the look he gave me.....when he said...'Hell, now they know you have it!! He just walked away....shaking his head.

as far as pistols is concerned, its probably better to have one they know about than to get caught with one they don't know about.

What ever you use Carbine , shotgun or handgun. Make sure the bad guy
doesn't get it away fom you. It happened to my father. The struggle for the Chief's special was up close and personel. Long story short he was pistol whipped with his own gun and a shot went his way while chasing the bad guy out of his Motel. Good thing the dirt bag was a bad shot.
