    Bolt problem

    I just acquired an inland m1 carbine and I noticed the bolt does not stay open after magazine empties--is this normal or do i have a problem??

    That sounds normal. With the M1icon Carbine, the magazine follower is what holds the bolt back after the last shot. Most GI 15 round mags do not hold the bolt open, most GI 30 rounders have a follower with a square back that does. I think I've seen a few GI 15 rounders with a 30 rounder follower installed to lock the bolt back after the last shot. I don't know about repro magazines.

    The M1 Carbine has no automatic bolt hold open device like the M14icon. Only the type of magazine mentioned above will hold the bolt open after emptying it or you must use the manual hold open device on the op rod assembly.
