To Patrick Chadwick, ammo test for the 96/11

    Hi Patrick,

was yesterday at the shooting range and tested ammo fro my M1917 and the 96/11. I found a good one as you see in the 1st. pic. The shot a little higher was a CBS and the 2nd a little left and in the tiny hole are3 rounds of this load. Distance 100m. the load datas are on the 2nd pic. BTW this ammo goes a little to the right but with a " Feinvisier" no problem.

    Regards

    Gunner

That looks very, very good. Amazing, in fact.
I shall really have to try that load myself (oh dear! I had said I didn't want to load another caliber - but that was yesterday)

    Hi Patrick,
A comrade tested the load in his ZF K31icon and he got a 5-shot group with 22mm at 100m. I think it will work in more rifles. BTW do you have the new Visier
August8/2009 ? Interresting stuff about Swedishicon Mausers and Kragicon rifles incl. load datas.

    n'Tag Gunner,
bearing in mind that most people would expect a K31 to shoot a bit better than G96/11, I think you must have hit on the perfect resonance load for the long barrel of the G96/11. Well done. I will look for the Visier, but the load test in my Swissicon rifle will have to wait a while - it's BPCR at Alsfeld tomorrow!

    n`Tag Patrick,
at first congrats to a "Really Senior Member" and thanks for the statement on the other LE thread. Sometimes it is better to be quiet when all things are said. I wish you good luck with the rifle and the weather. Hope you`ll get your british coolness back to cut out the bull of the target.

    Regards

    Gunner
