Mikie,
Thanks for sharing that. Very moving indeed.
Perhaps if our flaming liberal media weren't so busy covering politics, and the seamy side of sports and entertainment, we'd hear more about these incredibly brave citizens. Bless them all.
Sorry Moderator if I went too far astray here.

A very lucky man to survive that. Cheers for those that saved him. Talk about a white knuckled operation !!
As far as the media I see Kiko's point, but I wouldn't want their job. Many are assigned to specific events/stories. They can't cover eveything. Blame should fall on the big networks chasing ratings not the reporters in the field covering what their told to cover.
Our Heroes have never or will never get the coverage they deserve. Most of 'Joe Public' go thru their day never giving a thought to those that have served or are serving.

I totally agree with you Charlie. It's generally not the reporters, but the network execs chasing ratings who are responsible.

I saw just about the same TV story back in the late 60s from a field hospital in S.Vietnam, when That darned "flaming liberal media" covered, up close, personal & dangerous as hell f/the cameraman, the surgical removal of a live RPG-7 round from the chest of a very lucky US GI by a VERY brave US Army surgeon, all alone @ the operating table. Those of you around my age (66) may also remember this. I'm very glad that this young soldier, like his comrade from that long ago war, came out okay.
