    Carbine Club Advice

I have been interested in joining the Carbine for quite some time, but waited until I could swing the cost of the back issues. About a month ago I took the plunge.
I sent a application & check to the Medway MA. address and data sheet to Canal Fulton address.
I got an acknowledgment card for my data sheet in about a week, but have heard nothing about my membership or back issues. The check has not been cashed.
Does it normally take this long to go through? I don't want to be a pest, but if the letter is lost I need to void the check. I sent an E-mail the "Membership Issue" box and
    haven't gotten a response.
Beyond the check concern I'll also very anxious to dig into the back issues.
    Should I relax or worry?

    Regards,
    Denny

i too have been interested in joining, i emailed them 5 or 6 times over the last year and a halfto see if i could get a back issue so i could see what is was getting for my money. and they never replied back to me. so that being said, i am too affraid to give them my money.
a few people i know, never stuck with them because they said the"news letter" was just a sheet or two of xeroxed paper with common knowledge printed on it.
if anyone has a copy of an "issue" post it up here

    PhillyDude,
I can assure you that the Carbine club newsletter is not just a few pages of Xroxed common knowledge. It is a superb multipage of info not commonly known to the carbine community, and it is obvious that the contributing members have done an enormous amount of research and vetting for its contents. Many photos of rare and unusual features, little known history relating to carbines and manufacturers, foreign country usage and involvements with the carbine, etc, etc. I have been thoroughly impressed with the nature and detail of the content. Hopefully, someone will post a copy, or better yet, send me a PM with your address, and I'll copy and mail you a couple of mine.

Give it a little time, about 2 months. Just got my first newsletter, good info on
bavarian guns. Mostly volunteers do the paperwork and check will not cash
till they get to you. Nothing like Garandicon C.C. I had a member card within a week.
    Just a different setup..

    Thanks for the reassurance.
I have no doubt the value and quality of the information I will get with my membership in the Carbine Club. I won't panic yet.
I guess age hasn't completely taken the kid out of me. We still want everything Now!

    Regards,
    Denny

Years and years have gone into some of the information in the Newsletters.
The guys that write the books you use for reference come from the Carbine Club. The info that can be found in just one paragraph can answer questions a non member could carry to the grave.
The Club asks for members who help with research, info, sightings etc. It's not a place for dropping the kids off after school!
All are welcome........Welcome to contribute. If your one not willing to contribute and just worried what your WHOPPING $20 a year (or so) member fees will get you....Don't Join.

    BTW,
The CC Newsletters are for member use only. Passing one along like a used magazine is a insult to the members who work so hard FOR the benefit of other members.

Agreed. The Newsletter is also copyrighted so passing it to none members is a no-no.

Agreed on the contents of many of the commercial books. A lot of came from the Carbine Club newsletter. It is filled with information you will not find in books or on the internet.

Keep another thing in mind. The workers are all volunteers, get paid nothing, and often spend many hours each month, designing the newsletter, mailing it, taking in new members, renewing old members, and many other chores.

    Be Patient.
