A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. I will accept PayPal, Zelle, MO and good old checks (and cash if you want to stop by for a tour!). CLICK BANNER to send me a PM for International pricing and shipping. A fitting tribute to a brave man.
But one reason why there are so few living recipients.

The only one who I know about surviving that action was a Britishicon soldier who landed backwards on a grenade in Afghanistan and his rucksack adsorbed most of blast. Oddly enough he didn't get the VC for that because it was a booby trap and they were NOT under fire. If ONE round had been fired against them, it would have rated the VC.

A bit of history, Another recipient got the GC in WW2 when his bomber was hit and caught fire. He crawled out on the wing, beat the fire out, AND THEN DID IT AGAIN. BUT they were NOT under attack when he did it. If he had not done that, they never would have gotten back, but ended up in the channel.

Some rules really need to be changed. or exceptions need to be made
