    Question Seeking info, romac 3?

A fellow I see at a lot of local gunshows and have bought a lot of stuff from has come into some Romanian Romac 3's. Looks like a stamped version of the Dragunov. Hes asking $799.00 U.S.iconD. Could any of you fellas tell me what to look for/at and is the price out of bounds. I'd like to pick one up just to have a semi 7.62X54r, but if its correct, well, that would make it a must. Whats your thoughts?-SDH

The Romanian PSL 7.62x54mmR rifles are simply enlarged versions of the AK-47 and not a "true" Dragunov I believe ??

By the way Century calls them Romak 3's they are also called SSG-97's as well. Tennessee Guns stamps the rifles with "DRAGUNOV" or "FPK" that they build in the United Statesicon.

I'd imagine they'd make decent range rifles. I had a magazine that had a artical about them a while back. Can't remember the detailed but the Author I believe seemed to like the gun.

Also, I recall hearing some buzz recently that some of the Romak's being imported are recalled by the BATF - something about the romanians claiming the receivers were new made semi-auto receivers, but some of them were actually converted autos?

I would think any still on the market are OK though.

Hum, very interesting. My Buddy has a small pile of them he just got from some distributer down around Tennessee. I hope these are fresh imports rather than put togethers. I'm reading up on them and found that certain parts should be serial numbered, If I see that his guns are indeed numbered I'll most likely take a chance on one. I have low expectations as far as being too much of a straight shooter, but, they look pretty cool and I like collecting sniper/target rifles, thanks guy's for the input, if you here anything else shoot me a heads-up-SDH
