    My 03/03a1 project update

So far so good my C stock came in from Dupage trading and is it nice, a few coats of gunny paste(6) and it looks even sweeter. I went with there pre-war style, it was the best $175.00 spent and that included the handguard and shipping. I ordered on Fri-8/7 Dupage shipped it out on Mon-8/10 and it was at my door on Tues-8/11 Im in Tucson and there up the road in Chandler so this would acount for the very fast service.

Now for the fitment issue, one minor problem is all the screw holes are tight I needed to screw the screws in one or two threads and back them out a few times I even used some chap-stick for lube without any luck, so I stuck with the back and forth method, all seated down fine without any cracking/splits or wood fibers crunching, but man-o-man did my forearm get a workout.

I have also added my fine checkered butt plate with trap it needed a home so on it went, the smooth one just looked out of place. I polished the bolt and follower just because I like the NM look, it does feel slicker than before its non-polished state, but that could be me. I used a flat stone on the sight leaf to remove that black trash and now the graduations are viewable.

Like a kid waiting for Christmas, I ordered a set of USMC sites from Bill Bentz there on the way, I just need to find a USMC front site cover or a good repo and I'm in like Flin.

Sorry no range report yet, I have been working alot of overtime so hopefully next weekend, but if looks counted for X's this is a X-ring killer.

Who can I PM for a SRS check?? not that my rifle is special, I would just like too know if the rifle has any documented history.

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. I will accept PayPal, Zelle, MO and good old checks (and cash if you want to stop by for a tour!). CLICK BANNER to send me a PM for International pricing and shipping. Phil

It's a "USMC" type with a larger loop on top to clear the taller sight. The regular version will not clear.

That sure looks sweet. Do you have any before pictures? Also, what did you do to the metal?
