I know Ray-Vin has 03A3 front sight blades higher than the standard "A" sight.

I don't know if they have thicker blades.

    Try www.ray-vin.com

    Thanks Bolo

Checked Ray-Vin, they only have taller fronts in std. width, .050.

Looking for one .062 or slightly larger. Old eyes getting older, have trouble with the thin blade.

    Thanks,
    Mark

I made sight "blanks" with the .050" lower (to fit the original base) and with a .090" upper (to fit my ageing eyes!).

Simple work with a file on the top section to conform with the original profile (plus an undercut on the rear, verticle portion so as to NOT reflect light towards the rear.) --Jim

    Thicker Front Sight for '03A3

Bill Bentz makes superb USMC profile sights for '03's and '03A3's, They are much wider and perfect for older eyes.

    wider 03A3 front sights

I have several front sights for the 03A3. Standard profile, .062 and .074 wide. These are CMPicon legal (4 of the top 12 shooters at the National CMP Springfield Match used .074 wide sights at Perry 2009).

    I have "A", "B","C", .598 & .500 heights. $25 ea. shipped.

I also have USMC profile sights for the 03. These are tall (like the Marine sight) with the under-cut blade. Supposed to change the "battle notch" zero from 547 to 200 yards(?). These are in .062, .074 and .100 widths. $25 ea. Also some .100 wide that are .390 tall.

Camp Perry is almost here for those shooting the Springfield Match! Wider is better.

Bill Bentz makes sets for the 03 that mirror the USMC wider sight blade and the rear sight aperture. I guess he would sell just the blade itself. His e-mail is: dcm450shtr@comcast.net
