    Kabar

Gunner- The new photos help a lot. It appears to be a Mk2, could be a Kabar. The knife almost looks as though it had been originally a plated UDT version. Reason is it looks as though the false edge had not been sharpened. Also it appears to have been cold blued. That section of the blade just in front of the guard, and the guard itself. What is throwing me a little is the versions of the UDT MK2's that I have seen in books, did not have grooved handles.I believe Camillus did have a different variant that was grooved. Bad Tolz would have been a logical place for your Dad to have received this knife from a Special Forces soldier.THX SKIP

Hi Skip, thank you for your efforts . Is this UDT version a special thing ? I Googled that the UDT-men are something special what the origin of the Special Forces couldt explain. So it is better to do it in the safe to my other knives. It has eventually a interesting history. Thank you for your help.

    Regards

    Gunner
