Pinned v. Bolt Remington 1903A3 stocks

I can't seem to determine the serial time frame for pinned vs. cross bolt 1903A3 Remingtons. Can someone assist? Basic question is if a 9-43 Remington would have a pinned stock. The teach a man to fish principle applies if someone could enlighten me.

Pinned only to early 1943. A 9-43 would have the bolts
HC-2, VA-43, USS LEXINGTON, USS INDEPENDENCE

If you will advise the serial range of your rifle, I can tell you which type stock it should have.

    John,

Reclama on the barrel date mentioned. The rifle is serial 3939709 with a barrel date of 8-43 as opposed to 9-43 reported through fading memory.

Your rifle's stock S/N 3939709, should be reinforced with crossbolts, not pins.

    Hope this helps.

Thanks John. I have a line on a 12/42 A3. Would a pinned stock w/RA stamp be correct for that, or was that time pre RA stamp?

A 12/42 '03-A3 would have a pinned stock with NO "RA". And in case you didn't pick up on the other discussion, it would also have an olive parkerized bayonet band!

    Hope this helps. Good Luck!
