OT German Luger Assement

Can someone tell me whom I can contact to get an assessment / value on my Luger? It is an all number matching pistol. It was a brought back by my late father in law. It also has the holster.

I did not want to ask on line “what is it worth” unless everyone here is ok with it and can provide a good assessment.

It all depends on what the Luger is as there were hundreds of variations, condition, and when it was made. If you can post some good pictures I bet you can get a good assessment of value right here.
If it was a military Luger, it will have two magazines which were serial numbered to the pistol.

I think Ralph Shattuck is about as well-known in Lugers as Dave Buehn is in .45s. Both are big name dealers.

Simpson Ltd. in IL is also a big Luger dealer.

Assessments may differ significantly, depending on who you talk to. Values dealers often throw out may be different than values thrown out by collectors who are end-user types that aren't dealing with wholesale/retail pricing.

I agree, with some good photos and information, a good assessment can be offered by many here who don't have a dog in the race...just interested to see what you have and make sure you understand what it is and its value.

Most of the big dealers will do appraisals, but normally charge a fee based on the appraised value of the pistol.
