    Compliance Parts

I thought I recalled seeing U.S. marked magazine followers and also U.S. marked charging handles for the L1A1. No one seems to have them now. Am I imagining things, or have they disappeared form the market, or ??

I think Tapco had them at one time but the supply has dried up. You might try GunPartsGuy out west.

It's nice to run into you here. I hope all is well.

This FAL is quirkie and obscure

Oddball parts pop up over on the FAL Files marketplace all the time. As quick as it appears. . . the stuff disappears. It gets somewhat frustrating as you'll spot that part you're looking and the seller never bothers to respond to an EMail or PM inquiry. I've pretty given up on the FAL files for sourcing out components.

Have had much better luck with the PA Gun owners forum. Bought and swapped several items through that board. Good luck.

I am deep into this so heres the scoop

There is some guy that makes charging handles for the L1A1 over at Fal Files but you will have to go over there to look.

You can gain 3 US parts count if you use a DSA USAicon mag: follower, mag body and floor plate. However, I had to send all my 5 mags back to be replaced as they would not feed right. DSA is retooling and will correct the mag problem and things ought to work out. I hope.

Falcon used to make floor plates out of a hard plastic material but no more. I cannot find anyone to sell me any of these. DSA has no plans to sell floor plates or followers but at $20 a mag, if they can make them to function, then it is all good.

Finding compliant L1A1 parts is tough and getting tougher. Gunpartsguy had the USA triggers, sears, hammers , oprods and USA plastic stock sets (not great furniture but 3 parts compliance .

Its too bad Brian Dickicon is not doing L1A1 parts: it would make it a one stop no BS situation.

    Us C/h

The guy on FAL files who makes the charge handles is mountianman. He's out of Florida. *** Be careful of the Tapco gas pistons. I had gotten one for my StG 58 and when compared to the original one, the piston head was .0025 smaller and the humps behind the head was .003 larger. I had one in my rifle and the ejection was inconsistent. It might have been a isolated incident but something to look out for***
