Type 2 barrel band vs. cutdown type 3

Is there an easy way to distinguish a authentic type 2 band from a cutdown type 3 band?

    Barrel Bands

We have a lot of that goes on here in the UKicon as people try to make their carbines look more WW2 and dont know how to remove the front sights to change the barrel bands......

I usually look for rough saw cut edges and possible damage to the barrel where the unsuspecting person has cut too far...

    Regards

    Lloyd

The quick way to tell is to learn the markings for the two different bands plus the usual signs, but a really good faker can actually make one that most people would not question.
