    1951 colt government model 1911a1

    I picked up a 1951 colt government model 1911a1. it has micro match sights on it, are these factory? Is this common for this model? what is the range these are usually worth? its about 95% blue!

    Since Colt did not offer a Government Model with adjustable sights, aftermarket sights are fairly common on the early post WWII models. The pistols had no collector value at the time, and their owners had them fitted with adjustable sights.

    With the aftermarket sights and the condition it would be worth in the neighborhood of $700 plus or minus.
