    New Member with T99

Hi there folks. I have had a T99 for several years and never really knew what it was. I aquired it from my Grandparents who had it hanging on the wall in their den. As a kid we would always get it down and play with it, so when it came time to empty out their house, I snagged it. It is hanging on the wall in my den now.

This past weekend I was out shooting with my in-laws and there was a military gun buff there who got me interested in investigating my "old chinese rifle". I did some googling, which led me here. I have found a wealth on information about the T99. I comparing pictures I originally decided it was a series 33, but according to some of the symbol translations it looks like it was manufactured in the Howa Jyuke of Osaka plant and has a series 9 symbol. Still not sure because it looks exactly like a series 33 except it does not have the milled flower design on the back of the bolt.

The gun still has the MUM flower design and looks to be in pretty good. condition. It looks like it is missing part of the floor plate. The plate is there, but in comparing it to some pictures, there is another plate and a thin, spring-like metal piece connecting them. That is missing. It would be nice to have a magazine also.

Anyway, that is my story and how I ended up here with you guys.

    Thanks for listening,
    Jay
