Early Report from GCA at CMP Anniston

You guys will be seeing some great rifles soon.
Today GCAicon members opened many, many, pallets of rifles from Greece. These rifles are said to have been in use by the Greek Air Force and are in better condition than most seen in the past. Most were late SA in the 5.6 - 5.8 range and late HRA, some with LMR barrels. Majority in great shape with excellent stocks. Many of these rifles are correct grade, maybe even collector grade.
Also a couple of hundred brand new unissued rifles turned up. Look for these on the auction site. I only heard of one IHC being found though there may have been a few more. Some Winchesters including WIN 13, but mostly mixmasters. A few M1D'd and type 1 NM.
Yes, for the time being all the ammo at CMPicon has been sold but they expect to be getting quite a bit more from Greece in the not to distant future. Also CMP is attempting to have some commercial companies produce 30-06 ammo at reasonable cost.
Also, something new. Around the 1st of the year CMP will be obtaining a large number of Bayonets. Most likly M5s but may also have some 10" M1icon Bayonets in the lot.
As far as Garands for the future. We were told that CMP currently has on hand apx. 150,000 rifles which they expect should be good for the next 4 or 5 years.
Believe me, as this new group of rifles become available you will all be VERY pleased with them, Don't miss out. When will they become available ? I don't know. They now must go to the armorors to be checked out and graded, but when they do become available, Don't miss the boat on these.
