Farrow's Manual of Military Training PDF

Internet Archive: Free Download: Farrow's manual of military training

Theres some good useful information on the M1917 rifle, among a great many other things, but the part you might find most useful is the small section on zeroing in an M1917 rifle when it was rebarreled.
It doesn't say its for the M1917 specifically but earlier in the text Farrow says that this sort of instruction is for the M1917 but applies to the Springfield as well, though in fact the dovetail front sight does make the instruction specific to the US Enfield Rifleicon.

Its way towards the end so you'll have to look for it , I forgot the page number, its under repairs to equipment.

    PS
The acceptable standard for a new barrel was apparently 2 MOA, the aiming point crossbar being two inch bars at one hundred yards, though four inch bars at two hundred was the suggested distance, four out of five bullets had to print in the center square.
