    *Mosin Nagant M44 Sights Question*

Hey guys, I just aquired a 1945 M44 Mosin Nagant.

I took it up to the range today but I think the sights need to be adjusted.

When I aim for the center of the target it usually goes to the very left of the page.

How do i adjust the windage on it? Pictures would help alot.

The front sight can be shifted in its base. You are shooting left, sight needs to be moved left.

No pictures needed. Try shooting it with the bayonet extended. If that doesn't fix it, use a small brass punch and hammer and drift the entire globe left or right in the dovetail to compensate for windage error. If the gun is shooting the the right, push the globe to the right (ie, to the right as you would see it lookign through the sights). Vice versa for the left.

Just a suggestion- when tapping a sight over, it is a good idea to solidly support the front sight base. You aren't likely going to rotate the sight base on a 44, but there are other rifles where you can get into trouble.
Shape the tip of the drift so that it is a nice fit against the sight.
