    Krag Canvas Breech Cover

Just how rare are these breech covers and what is their value range?

Not rare but fairly scarce. I had bought two about 6yrs ago, I believe I paid about $65-$75 for them then. I imagine they probably run about $100 - $125 these days as a guess. Having the original rawhide ties still intact is a plus, Ray

I've seen at least two listed recently on Ebay as 1903 covers. They went for under $60 per auction. The seller could have gotten much more if he'd have listed them correctly and in the right category..

    Smile Breech Covers

Once a very common appendage, these have shot up in price. With the rawhide intact and in fairly crisp shape 75.-- and up is a realistic price. They were once as common as the old Pedersen magazine pouches from years ago.

$55 to the sharp eyed buyer. It pays to keep your eyes open for misidentified and undervalued items.
