New Eddystone
I picked up my first M1917 Enfield today. It's an Eddystone with serial number 175XXX. It appears to retain the original blued finish. I have Stratton's book and there is an "E" in all the right places except the barrel. The barrel is marked with a "W" with a line through it and is dated 2-19. The stock is marked with "SAA" in a box (San Antonio Arsenal) followed by an "H" in a box. What's the approximate date of the receiver, and am I correct to assume that it got a replacement Winchester barrel at some point? I'll post some photos as soon as I can get the camera to talk to my computer.

175,000 would have been made in 1918 according to My data.

According to Ferris, november of 1917. I picked up a 10-17 dated eddy barrel on a cut receiver that was in the lower hundredthousands. I always thought it would be a good candidate for use on an eddy receiver.
What's the condition of your bore?

It has a nice bore, but wouldn't mind picking up a more correct barrel. PM me if interested in selling
