A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. Stock may be a yugo replacement, or it may simply be a rack number. Assuming the metal bits all match, a first glance says they don't appear renumbered. Perhaps a matching sporteriszed rifle restored with a yugo stock?

from what the pictures show, the stock seems to be the only part that has seen post war experiences. You never know, there could be receiver markings.

I have come across a Brit captured k98k, which was all matching, and the only brit marking was on the stock.

Can't attend this one. The OSA 3 gun match is that weekend.

I can't attend unless I want to test the waters being a single man (the Eganville show is this weekend and I have indulged myself in other ways too).

    There's always Absentee.

I plan on attending Eganville on Sunday. Saturday of this weekend is a one day shoot at OSA.

    Lightbulb

Switzer's have added some pics and new items to their Aug 25th auction web page.....

    Item 1685 - Serial # 9302T MAUSER GEW98 8MM J.P. SAUER 1917

I believe the bolt is missmatched to the receiver....

BTW, the date in the listing says 1917, but the date on the receiver is 1916.

    Regards,
    Doug
