How do you attach the standard short Belgian flash hider?

In photos its looks like these are all attached with the flats on the sides of the flash hider sitting vertically. When I hand tighten mine on the left hand threads, the flats only wind up just past horizontal.

Am I supposed to put a proper fitting wrench on the flats and turn the flash hider as hard as I can the remaining 80 or so degrees, or will this strip the threads? And if not, how do I lock the flash suppressor in place and get it nice and symetrical? Epoxy on the threads?

Actual, the indexing feature is the bayonet catch notch. It should be at the 6 o'clock postiton. There should be some misalignment when hand tight but 80 degrees is too much. I suggest spacer washer.

These threads are very fine. Whats the proper amount of takeup, in degrees? Am I supposed to put a conventional wrench on the flats, or use a belt and a strap wrench?
