    Bit of help needed.............

I found a what looks to be a Japaneseicon rifle backsight in a box of assorted parts at Warminster.

The backsight leaf is 2.8" long from the axis pin to the top of the leaf and .8" wide It is marked from 3 to 15 on the left side and evens on the right. The slide cursor has spring loaded finger grips to raise or lower it. It has a right angled battle sight.

There are two extending arms, one on each side, marked 2 with a notch beneath and 3.

Overall width of the arms folded is 1.6"

    Any ideas chaps? And thanks

Is this what you're describing Peter?

The sight with the anti-aircraft elements?

If I remember correctly and I stand to be corrected, but I think some part of this one is installed backwards ...

That's EXACTLY it! It looks like the anti-aircraft fingers are bach to front as you said. I'll label it up as from an Arisakaicon short rifle type 99.

If anyone despereately needs one they can have it for the cost of jiffybag and postage plus a small donation.

Just the arms themselves. Swap them right for left, notches remain on the bottom.

Just to clear it up for those that might otherwise not know, being new to Japaneseicon rifles and all...
