    Stock Markings

I picked up a couple stocks and need some help with some stamps. One is I cut, high wood marked RMC in slinwell, next to the RMC is a big R. It has no P, and has a small cc near the grip that is pointing to 10:00. So my Question is it a Rock-Ola made for Rock-Ola? Thanks.....Frank

RMC for Underwood without the maker stamp maybe? Only I don't have my books here with me to be sure. There is no UEF or RMC in a box near the cartuouche?

No U.E.F. or RMC Bill, that was what threw me. No stamp on the right side except the small cc near the grip pointing to 10:00. After we figure this one, I have another that has me scratching my head.....Frank

That sounds almost like an SP then. Check WB but I think RMC may have dished out stocks to SP early on??? Is the cartouche a real one?

Yes on the cartouche, these were very dirty and oily. They were in an old Farm Bureau feed sack. They all only showed type one band use. The RMC with the big R in the sling well was puzzling. Thanks....Frank

Sounds like an early RMC stock for IBM. Possibly the R in the sling well is a partially struck B. The small cartouche and location next to pistol grip sounds like IBM. hth.

Thanks dbarn, I have the stock out in the shop degreasing. I'll check on the possible "B" and get some pics, but probably not today. I have been on a quest to get an RMC stock for my 4.5 Rock, I now have two but not sure if either will work. We'll sort out the other one next.....Frank

Under the magnifying glass it does look like a large partialy struck "B", it is to the right of the RMC stamp in the sling well. Do you think I have an early IBM made by Rock-Ola?.....Frank
