help w/vlaue on Long branch 4Mk1*

Hi folks,
I really need my 1st Enfield, and a Long Branch would be a great way to start! Is 350-375$ a fair price for this rifle?:
LE Long branch 1950 C no.4Mk1* has some small dings, usual usage marks. All matching, mint bore.

I'd say it's a bit high, but there has been a lot of inflation in these rifles over the last few years.

If it's in your price range and you like it, I'd say buy it. You may pay too much, but you'll at least have a great rifle to show for it.

much appreciated. The seller is actually asking $450... I want to make an offer based on the true value.

You can find the 50s dated no4mk1* in unnissued condition for between $450-$600. I paid $450 for mine about 2 years ago. I consider that a bargain in the Enfield world, and don't expect them to remain at that price forever.
I'd concur with Stevo's assesment of the price you are quoting for the rifle you are trying to get, it's a tad high.

Theres still lots of the wartime dated LB #4s out there for $200 to $300. Although it's tempting to buy the first (and every) LongBranch you see, try and use some willpower to resist.

Then again, whatever you pay for it will look like a bargain in a couple years anyway.

If that's the rifle on the milsurp post on CGN, It is on the high side of fair for price at $450. They're not makeing any more of them. there aren't any more left in storage after some craphead beaureaucrat ordered the last remaining rifles destroyed several years ago. If that rifle would be in just a little better condition (stock) and included sling, bayonet and frog, it might be more reasonable. Make up your own mind on this rifle. If you want it buy it, if you wait around, looking for another, they are few and far between, you may never even find another one in this condition. I have actually been contemplateing makeing an offer on that rifle myself, right around the range you're considering. I would like it for milsurp shoots, the one I have now is unissued and I have used it for the shoots, and so far it hasn't shown any signs of usage, but it's only a matter of time before some clutz like myself causes a big ding or scratch, then watch the air turn blue. Seeing as it's your first milsurp, go ahead and make your bid, I'll give you a until thursday evening, then I'll submit my offer if it isn't already sold. bearhunter

There's no harm in trying an offer. I'd start with something like $380, shipping included. See if he bites

It seems like when you're looking for one it's impossible to find, when you're not looking for one they keep popping up like Whack a Moles...
I can't see it being worth much less than what he's asking for it...LB's are a premium rifle in this country.
