    early parts

do not think the lower band still has the drawing number by 16,000 but looks good - and how many are going to know? uncut early op rods are difficult to find

Agreed on all points. The numbered band easily may be incorrect but it certainly looks good. Of course the vertical ear sight is also incorrect. I do have a low 4 digit receiver and a top-stamped D 35382-0 op rod in the parts pile and I may swap them out.

The current receiver/bolt combination yields a suitable headspace so I am not all that excited about moving things around. My "wall hanger" Gas trap is virtually totally correct but is not anywhere near as much fun as this one since it's not shootable. Per your recommendation to me from the old CMPicon forum I do not want to send the original 5 thousand dollar gas cylinder into orbit.....
