U.S. Military Knives Bayonets & Machetes Book by cole III or IV

Thinking of purchasing one of Coles books and wondering if book IV is a continuation of book III or an updated version of book III? Would prefer to buy just 1.
    Thanks in advance,
    Gerry

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Cole's Books

Gerry- I bought book III in 1981, still love it. Never got book IV. But, did buy the Best of US Military Knives by Cole. I love it. It's a compilation of III & IV. I'm sure others may have different opinions. SKIP

I have the Cole's books. I like them alot.

Of those two, book #3 is the one you want. More items in it. Book #4 has some new stuff and continues some stuff.

But for about the cost of one original Cole's book you can get:

The Best of U.S. Military Knives, Bayonets & Machetes by M. H. Cole edited by Michael Silvey it runs about $60.

It combines all the Cole books. I have it also. I would rather use it then damage my original Cole books. Saw one on ebay:

    U.S. Military Knives, Bayonets & Machetes by M. H. C... - eBay (item 170427490867 end time Jan-10-10 08:40:16 PST)

    Good luck,

    Jim
