Unless the receiver is demilled, I'd say $599 for a GI Carbine with leaf rear sight, type 1 or 2 band and push safety is a good deal.

Condition and parts? I saw one Sunday that was early 2-43 1,39x,xxx repo sight, repo type one band. He wanted 600.00 I passed. If yours has real sight and band you did great. If not genuine sight and band and it is rack grade you could get one from CMPicon for under 500.00. Just my TCW. How about some pictures.....Frank

How about the stock? Is it I cut, highwood, with the proper cartouches? Any import marks on the barrel? Could be a good find.....Frank

    Good memory Charlie,

    From the Ruth/Duff book

The sub-contractors below appear to have been assigned the following serial number ranges.

    2,355,000-2,400,000...Intertype Corp. (T) code
    2,401,000-2,491,000...Universal Winding Co. (W) code
2,577,000-2,599,000...United Shoe Machinery Co. (S) code
    2,630,000-2,655,000...Singer Manufacturing Co. (B) code

It is known that thousands of receivers from the 2,352,520-2,912,519 block were sold to Winchester as well as probably several thousand from the 6,099,689 to 6,199,688 block.
