    Contents of B.I.I. Kit U.S. Rifle Cal. 30 M1

I bought this kit the other day and am wondering if anyone knows what date/era it might be from. Also, what might be inside. I doubt that there is actually a sling inside. The package is just too small to contain a sling and sure doesn't feel like one is in there. Maybe the label just states what is in the standard BII, and not necessarily what is in this package. I kinda hate to open it, although I am tempted.

    Thanks, Greg V

Based on what it says, I'd guess it's a complete cleaning kit with bore and chamber brush, rod (multiple sections), grease, and case plus a sling.

That's what I would think too, but it sure doesn't feel like there is a sling in there. I may have to open it just to satisfy my curiousity.

I think the sling they are referring to is the strap that you tie your kit up with after you roll it up.

The FSN is for a M1icon rifle sling.

Post 1963. Probably Rock Island Arsenal, but if you can tell me what the bottom marking is, it may change: A/FA? or A/PA?

The terminology "Waiver Granted" indicated the chamber brush would not fit inside the stock, along with the rest of the items.

The terminology "Fixed" indicates the sling would be provided with the rifle.

Would appreciate if you could email two large images of this one. Never saw it before. Thanks.
