    Standard Products Barrel Band

A question guys, I bought this carbine last month and the barrel Band is missing the sling loop on the barrel Band. Type 2, I have a type 3 post production band, but I would like to stay with the type it should have. At the last 2 gunshows, I dont recall seeing anything but type 3's and for a couple of weeks now havent seen any type 2's in e-bay. I dont want any repro's. I know the type 1's are expensive, not interested, just want a type 2 for S.P. Anyone know of a place to get one? Did have one dealer at the gun show I bought it at say he thought it was a cutdown type 3, but after researching and comparing pictures I dont think so. Let me have your thoughts

Type 2's are just as expensive and hard to find.

Rustship, looks like a type 3 with the bayonet lug cut off.
Type two would have a set back, the stock band would project just slightly in front of the barrel band. I zoomed 150% and could not see the set back.
    Can you see/feel it?
If it's there you might be able to cut a sling swival, slide it on and weld it. Then file down the weld. JMHO.....Frank

I had the same thoughts Frank, now I just have to find a swival. Cousin has machine shop with heliarc. Problem is correct swival away from the band is probably as hard to find as the band itself. Im about to retire from AT&T here pretty soon, so I'll have a little more time.

Type III cut down is my thought as well. Good eye Frank.

    Frank,

It looks like just a slight set back under the top band, and I looked under a magnifying glass. I dont see any signs of filing or grinding, its all smooth and parkerized.

Rusty, you may be good to go than. Like painter said you can use a sling swival from a type III, they would be the same.
Are there any markings on the band?.....Frank
