    k31 Swiss Scope mount

Wanted to know were I could get a good scope mount for a K 31 Swissicon 7.5x55. The only ones I have seen are the Scout Mount that replaces the rear site, witch I do not like. And the other kind clamps onto the receiver and dose not look to sturdy. I would like one that actually mounts onto the receiver if there is such a thing. She is a great shooter, but I want to make it a little more usable. I cant get use't to any thing with the rear sight halfway down the barrel. Thanks for any info.

Please note that the fear of the clamp-on mount not being stable enough is unfounded. They are very stable and Point of aim is repeatable if removed and replaced on the same rifle. Variations in barrel and receiver alignment, receiver thumb cutoff notch and bedding can and does cause POI variations on different K31s. I tried two rifles with the same clamp-on and scope where the difference in point of aim at 100yrds was 2 feet! Each rifle shot under an inch for 5 rounds of 1984 GP11. When clamp-on mount was replaced back on original rifle it was still within one inch of original sight-in.

Short of using it in actual combat conditions, I wouldn't worry about it.

Been chatting with a guy on another forum that has a clamp on, and come to find out we're not to far apart. were going to meet this weekend and I'm gona try his.So I guess I'll wait till after that to decide. The reason I don't like them is the only one Ive ever seen was a cheap sheet mettle piece of #@*$. But I'll give it a chance, there probally not all the same.

Ok, you got me. The clamp on mount is a lot better than I thought. Witch one is better tho, the aluminum or steel? The one I shot was aluminum, but he said the only reason he got it was it,s lighter.

    Not much difference.
Alum has hard Anodized black surface which is harder than most steels.
    Wears very well.
