Just bought a box of parts for $40. The guy that sold them to me said he bought them a few years after he bought a DCM Springfield. He's a friend so I have no reason not to believe him. He sold the rifle a few years ago and just found the box of spares. Couldn't remember if they were for an 03 or 03-A3. Anyway. the parts are in separate anticorrosion envelopes packed by the Army and so marked. The envelopes are sealed and marked with a part number, item description and other info I can't identify. A sample of the markings are as follows:
1005-600-8759 LOCK-SAFETY 1EA C/ 5-71
1005-614-6883 SPRING 1 EA A B-63
1005-731-0025 PLUNGER, CUT OFF 1 EA C 11-68
I HAVE 2 QUESTIONS.
1 Does anyone have a link to the US Army part numbers to the 03 and 03-A3 Springfield so I can ID them?
2. When I sell them, should I take them out of the sealed envelopes or sell the unopened envelopes. I'm thinking eBay or Gunbroker.com, or one of the forum classifieds.
These are definitely old. I even found a local newspaper from 1975 in the box which was post marked 1973 from the U.S. Army.
