Five Digests that I should update

There are five digests of rifles or cartridges that I have had for a while that I proberly should update. One I know that I can but I am uncertain about the other four. Anyway, here they are:

"Cartridges of the World" by Frank C. Barnes.

OK, I know that I can update this and proberly everyone knows about this wonderful book. It calls itself 'The book for every shooter, collecter and handloader", and it is right! My copy is dated 1993 and is the 7th edition. Everyone should have this book and one day I am going to get a new copy!

"Rifles of the World" by John Walter
ISBN 0 87349 150 5

This book is a comprehensive survey of both militry and commerical arms, from the first metallic cartridge of the 1870's to the todays latest autoloaders. It is printed by DBI Books and my copy is dated 1973. I have not seen a new edition of this book.

The Rifles are listed by manafactuer and, the list is extremly comphrensive. The book is a must for the militry, and general shooting, enthusist.

"Militry Small Arms Of The 20th Centry." By Ian Hogg and John Weeks.
ISBN 0 87349 120 3

This is also printed by DBI Books and I have the 6th edition The contents list the fireams by type, eg. pistol, and then by country within type. Not all countries are listed under each heading. For example Preu is only listed under submachine guns and Norway under Bolt Action Rifles. it is a good read anyway.

"Guns Of The Elite." by George Markham.

This book comes from Arms and Armour press of Great Britian. Basically it is a history of the vvarious arms carried by , for the lack of a better term, special or elite forces.

After a overview of some history predating the modern cartridge era, there is a look at the happenings of WW1 and then into WW2. The post war develpoments are then reviewed, and then the various typs of guns carried by special focies are reviewed, by type. There are also lots of photos.

My copy is dated 1987 and god knows whether or not I can get an up to date copy now. Especially considering the current climate in that once great land.

Yes, another DBI Book. It is what it say's it is, "A detailed analysis of Militry and Law Enforcement Assaule weapons". Actually it is a bit more then that. There uis a section on sniper rifles and another on rare colt firearm. There is even a section on shotguns. My copy is dated now but I bet that you can get an up to date copy from DBI!
