need help uploading pictures to a post

I realize that I my computer skills are very limited, but I cannot seem to attach pictures to my posts. I have verified that my profile allows posting of images, I have read everything I can find on the forum and seem to have hit a wall. I have downloaded resizer and tried resizing the pictures, but that doesn't seem to work. I am trying to upload pictures from my computer. I use the manage attachments and when I browse and select a picture, I click on open. It then gives me a box to upload, but when I click on upload the pictures don't seem to be loaded to the forum. There is a small box on the bottom left that turns green and then appears to have the words new attachment showing. I am probably doing something dumb, but cannot seem to get past this point. Can anyone help me with this? Thanks in advance.

Well, I guess I was doing something dumb. I tried again and it worked. Didn't think I was doing anything different, but must have been. Thanks anway.
