    True...

...I was thinking more of the M73B1s , M81s , M82s , M84 stuff. There was also the early 1908 and 1913 scopes as well as the A5 and 5As that I don't recall the power on , as well as the 4 power Korean war scopes that could have been fitted , too. Can you narrow down the request?

I am not sure how extensive you want this list but US Ordnance did some testing with scopes in the 20s, I do not think any were issued. But they were mounted on M1903s.

The Frankford Arsenal No. 9 had the following characteristics:

    Power---------------- 2.5
    True field------ 9 degrees
    Exit pupil------ 0.27 inch
    Eye relief----- 2.7 inches

This information is from ‘Army Ordnance’ the Jan/Feb. 1924 issue.

The one below is for a Springfield 1903, but 500 were bought buy the Canadianicon government to mount on the Ross during WW1. Some did end up mounted on P14's at the start of WWII

BTW, this one belongs to my wife, not me. She has two of them and is thinking about mounting one on a 1903 as a shooter.

    Hi Doug,

fine Scopes! Do you have any problems with damp on the inside of the lenses while shooting in higher humidity?

No, but that's because we keep them in a climate controlled vault ...

I think they are far too fragile with their age to try and shoot them. The rubber eye cups are hard as rocks, although we did get a couple of repro ones just in case we ever did decide to try and shoot them.

    Badger (Doug)

I have shot with mine, and it is unpleasant at best. It is awkward to sight, and I use a repop cup that does impart a slight blow to the eye area that is irritating. Eye relief is minimal, but the cup helps in that regard. The crosshairs are very difficult to see in a woodland environment.

It is better than a crossbow.
