    Stevens 520-30 barrell taper

The end of my shotgun barrell has a taper on it. It falls in the sereal number range and has the markings of a trenchgun including the three notches on the bottom of the barrell for the bayonett lug. Is this normal or was this made for a adjustable choke? Thanks
