RSS Feed Upgrading the Ruger Mini-14 the Brownells Way, Part I and Part II

Brownells makes it very easy for any shooter, experienced or not, to convert his Ruger Mini-14 into a tricked-out rifle that meets your exacting wants and needs. The first step in this customization process is to determine what I am going to use the rifle for. Foremost, I wanted this rifle for varmint hunting, particularly night-time hunting. My secondary use is for self-defense purposes at home.

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. good article about the Ruger Mini 14, but by the time you buy the weapon for about $699 (cheapest I've seen) and then do all the mods, you are better off buying an AR type from the get go.

    agreed,
i fell in love the the Mini 14, i learned a few things,,if you have one that will shoot under 3 inches, keep it...
i spent a lot of money , time, and frustration on the lil 14, and never got better then a 2 inch group at 100 yards, and then i had to give up some relialbilty.
nice rifle for prisons, ranchers, and plinkers,,,not not a rifleman..
i still like em...just learned not to make it something its not.
