A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. Yes , they're ok.

The 1903 and 1917 repros they make are good quality and have M3 style end hooks on them so they can't be passed off as orig. They look good and display nicely , but are not for field use. I bought several to save wear and tear on my orig. ones , and the hooks are too soft and can deform with thumb preasure. Because I use mine , I had to re-install the orig. ones back on.

If anyone wants repros , I have a dozen like new ones for $20 each plus flat rate box priority mail shipping ---prob'ly $5 for up to 3-4 , $12 I think for up to all.
