The confusion may stem from the theory that the 350 rifles set up in to fill final orders were thought to have been set up in 1946 (using 45 dated bodies). Also, Law's book gives two final figures. One is for completed rifles (1588), and the other is for completed or purchased telescopes (1524).
So while the total given for Dec 1945 may well be correct for that date, it would neither be final, nor include this rifle, as it was from the final batch.

I won #336 Venezuelan M24/30 and #341 Turk Mauser.
No pics, so a surprise awaits me. I've never had a rifle arrive expecting it to be an unmolested milsurp and find it to be a sporter, but did get a dewat once. The conditions of sale gave no recourse.
