U.S. RIFLE T35 WITH SANFORD INTEGRAL MAGAZINE .30 (T65E3)
Manufactured at Springfield Armory, Springfield, Ma. in 1953 - Second model Sanford Integral Magazine M1 Rifle. Integral magazine designed by Roy S. Sanford of Oakville, Ct. The ten round magazine, in effect, is a single row of rounds folded on itself. Feed is provided by spring loading the return bend to move the rounds toward the gun. A partition is required to separate the stationary side. This partition must also permit "turn around" at the bend. The replenishing of the magazine is accomplished at the fixed end of the row. The modified receiver for this right-side 10-round loading design was manufactured by SPAR. Weapon has an overall length of 43 1/2" and a barrel length of 22". Weapon tested at SPAR on 1/8/54. There is some evidence to indicate this weapon was dubbed the T38.
