Post What is the value of a Walther p38???

I just inherited a Walther p38 9 mm 480ac sn 8494 with holster and extra magazine that was issued to Generalmajor Adrian Freihen van der Hoop and surrendered to an officer of the Devils Brigade in Narvik, Norwayicon. Anyone have any idea of the value? The owners name and number is inside the holster and the extra magazine also has the sn of the pistol.

    Exclamation

Whose name is inside the holster?
Did the Brit soldier also get the generals Soldbuch which shows the pistol issued to him?
Without that Soldbuch there is NO way to verify who, or where, the pistol came from. Even a photo showing the General handing over his pistol would not prove that it was this pistol.
Thus, neat story, But all you have is an early P.38 that is worth just what an early P.38 is worth in the condition it is.
How about some photos of all the different items?
