    M84 Scope....... How old?

Any way to tell how old these are from the serial number?

    M84 Telescope - Serial number 07454 - eBay (item 300425115233 end time May-13-10 17:17:01 PDT)

    TIA,

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. That is the first serial number I have seen on a M84 that had a "0" for the first digit. Anyone else ever see one before???...

The 0 in front of the serial number usually means its a modern repro. the repro's sell for about 400 for a new one.

originals, depend on condition and range up to about $1100 on a bright sunny perfect warm day on ebay, normally in the 700 range

The few new (reproduction) M84 scopes I have seen all had a 'W' prefix for Wayne Machine Inc, Taiwan. Here is a picture from Sarcos auction site.
