1916 type II 45 ACP Holster

Just acquired a 1916 type II dated 1941. It is dated 1941 and marked Boyt-
1941-1. Have been looking for about year fo 1941. It is in descent shape but by no means great . I have heard 1941 dated holter are hard to come by, is this true thanks

First of all what do you mean by Type II? Yes, 1941 dated holsters are hard to come by as they didn't make very many in that year. Rememeber the U. S. didn't enter the war until 7 December 1941. The supply of holsters from Worl War 1 was sufficent to meet needs until the REAL expansion of the military after 7 December 1941.

By Type II had large belt slits, large drain holes and made after 1918. Also
the hanger of Type I is made of brass and Type II can be brass or metal. I bought it to go with my 1941 blue colt, the pinta of the pistol out shines the holster by miles. Maybe some day I will find a better one. I can hope and dream. Thank Wizzard.

Duane I am computer dumb if I can get on and access a web site and get off without crashing it I feel very fortunate. The 1941 colt is a mid 733000 sn. and the holster is 1941, only paid $50.00 for it and a real junkie pistol belt that I discarded.
