Remington Model 11 Riot US Property new in box with manuals and paperwork

    Hello
I am negotiating to purchase a mint US marked Remington Model 11 riot shotgun blue finish without game scene. The stock has the three initials in a rectangle and is in new condition. Includes a box and paperwork numbered to the gun. The owner is asking $2,000.00 and I was thinking closer to $1,400.00. I have seen mint examples without box go for in the $1,000.00 range so can anyone help me price one NIB? I would post pics if I had some. Thanks Greg

Having a box may add quite a bit to price. Is it a DCM box, a "factory" box or what?

    Hello All

I bought the Model 11 today and I am a happy guy. I had to pay $1,850.00 but I think I should be OK at that number. The serial # is 4748**. It has a game scene on the receiver and does not have the "MILITARY FINISH" roll mark. The stock has a small amount of checkering at the pistol grip and semi gloss varnish which was broken and is flaking a bit from the ordnance wheel and the unboxed FJA stamp being applied. The anchor final inspectors mark is on the trigger guard. The serial numbers match on the barrel and receiver but I am not going to remove the stock to check its number. The gun looks to be 99.9%NIB unfired with a clear/yellowish thick grease scattered here and there on the blued surfaces. It appears it was transfered from the green wrap rather than applied directly but I could be wrong. This grease is also present and and heavy on the breach face of the bolt. The packing consists of a few carboard partitions and dividers along with brown wax paper on the wood and thick green grease paper on the receiver and barrel. The box is the original remington box numbered to the gun. The label is stamped "PLAIN" does anyone know what that means? Something strange about the gun is that the barrel date stamp is BM which would be January 1921 according to info I got off the web. Not sure what that means. I will be posting pictures as soon as I get a spare hour.

Most interesting, esp. the Remington box! I've never seen one.

Very Nice GF. Mine has the same box. Incidentally the word "Plain" on the label just means the Barrel is not fitted with a "rib" on the sight line.

    Regards,
    Jim
