I'm sorry but your topic name caught my attention.

I know nothing about these rifles so would I be correct in assuming that this "crime" is the creation of a customized rifle that in reality never existed?

Interesting to note that not only this cobble job, but every other auction they list has 0 bids...

Well, part of it is the fact IBM's were never folding stock carbines, plus they didn't use an under folder stock, or metal hand guards.

Calling the other auction a "customized" rifle is a misnomer. That is what I'd call an criminal act, worthy of "stump hanging" to the individual who did it. Rope is too good for him, he's barely worth the nails.

I dunno......W/ a side folder repop stock and at $350-400 it might be something to play with for a while. I know plenty of police officers who would buy it at that price once the novelty wore off and I decided to move it along.

I don't condone cutting up an original condition carbine (or even a military rework), but what are the chances it wasn't some wretched Blue Sky reworked job w a bad muzzle to start? I'm thinking the bbl. might be a skosh under 16", though.

BTW, I've seen WORSE! (Even worse than the second auction - but that's pretty common.)

Oh, I have seen Blue Sky Barrels marked so deeply that it made raised places in the bore, thus destroying accuracy. Maybe, just maybe, that's what started the project- still don't like the underfolder- poo!

Well, I already found someone else that likes it (not NEAR $900 worth, though).

And it's less upsetting than the humped up high dollar carbine(s) (stocks at least) on auction right now from a certain Southern locale.

Wait, re-read the post... Jmoore, you are talking about that Blue Sky, right?

I think you are right that the barrel on that 1st one is shorter than 16"... I wonder how that is going to play in the State of the uninformed buyer if his state does not count the flash surrpressor in barrel length...
