Would the early duck bill be a good choice since my barrel is already threaded. The DB seems to be very open, if that is an issue. TIA

I like them. I've three or four 3-prong flashhiders (very early thin prong and regular) on uppers right now, including my deer hunting rig. (LW Colt 1-12 twist 20" chrome lined bbl.) W/ Sierra 55 s.p. bullets it's a 1-1 1/2 MOA set-up, no special tricks except a good two stage trigger. ( I did select this barrel out of three similar units for best accuracy.)

I've never seen a difference on target with a A2 birdcage or a plain (post ban) muzzle. You will have a different zero all things being equal. I'd say plain makes cleaning and crown inspection a little easier, but the supressor protects the crown if it got dropped. Pick you poison I guess.
